Atheist War on Christmas? Nawwwww....

Score another point for unhappy atheists.

This time it happened in Santa Monica, California.

For 60 years the City of Santa Monica allowed local religious groups to put up holiday displays in Santa Monica's Palisades park. There were a total of 21 spaces made available for these, which traditionally featured Nativity scenes or Hunakkah decorations.

That was until 2009, when Damon Vix, an atheist, won a bid to get one of the spots, where he put up a sign with an anti-religious quote by Thomas Jefferson.

Vix encouraged other atheist groups to do the same until atheists won 18 of the 21 available spots.

Huffington Post described it like this:

LOS ANGELESThere's no room for the baby Jesus, the manger or the wise men this Christmas in a Santa Monica park following a judge's ruling Monday against churches that tried to keep a 60-year Nativity tradition alive after atheists stole the show with anti-God messages

Unfortunately, local people didn't take too kindly to having their religious traditions assaulted and responded by vandalizing or destroying the atheist signs.

The City of Santa Monica took the easy way out of this and banned all displays from the park that are unattended. Local Christian groups filed a discrimination suit against the City, but a judge ruled that the reason for banning all displays was aesthetic and not anti-religious.

The fact is, atheists have proven once more that they are a loud minority with very thin skins. It is a sad thing to see local municipalities continue to knuckle under to this kind of tyranny.

Perhaps atheist organizations should change their logo from the symbol of the atom to a picture of a baby having a tantrum. Or perhaps the swastika, the ultimate symbol of intolerance.

The whole article can be found here, including pictures of the ugly signs the atheist groups polluted the park with:

Thanks, atheists, for once more refusing to show the tolerance you demand from everyone else.

So, when atheists take advantage of the public square, good Christians vandalize and destroy their displays. Then try to complain that they are being oppressed when the city shuts down the use of the park for holiday messages.

You ever consider that if Christians weren't intolerant, violent, hateful bastards that the signs could have stayed up? It wasn't the atheists vandalizing displays, it was the alleged Christians.

I doubt you'll allow this to post, as you seem to prefer an echo chamber to open discourse.

"responded by vandalizing or destroying the atheist signs. "

Yet Atheists are the ones with "thin skin" and "...should change their logo from the symbol of the atom to a picture of a baby having a tantrum. Or perhaps the swastika, the ultimate symbol of intolerance. "

Where is a broken Irony Meter when you need one?

I am all about open discourse.

I don't excuse vandalism, but I understand why the signs were vandalized. The signs many atheists post in places like this are both condescending towards believers and indicative of the kind of intolerance many outspoken atheists have towards traditional holiday celebrations.

It's funny how atheists accuse us Christians of "brainwashing" our children, saying things like "LET YER KIDZZ THINK FER THEMSELVEZZZ!!!!1!!!!one!!!" while they shove their perverted beliefs down their own children's throats, not giving them any free will and forcing them to be atheists like them. Hypocrites! I teach my kids the truth (aka Christianity), but I also teach them about other religions (including atheism, even though atheism is a superstitious lie). I want them to decide for themselves, and I want them to understand the importance of respecting other people's beliefs, ideas, and opinions, even if they are different (which is something that atheists don't know how to do).

You ever consider that if atheists weren't such hypocritical, narcissistic, hateful, abusive, violent, intolerant, self-centered, bigoted bastards Christians wouldn't feel the need to fight back?

Also, I hate to burst your anti-Christian bubble, but only a small number of Christians vandalized atheist signs, when every Christmas, atheists whine and cry about how "oppressed" they are by Christian Holiday displays. All around the country at Christmas time, every single year, atheists vandalize churches and Nativity scenes and even threaten to sue Christians for daring to express themselves freely.

And it isn't just Christmas time. It's ALL YEAR! Christians aren't allowed to publicly pray, put up crosses by the side of the road to honor their lost loved ones who were killed in car accidents, or even wear cross necklaces without atheists whining about it or suing them or verbally abusing them for it.

It's funny. Atheists complain about Christians being "preachy" and "pushy" but... I never see Christians shove their beliefs down anyone's throats? Or sue people for putting up public displays that they disagree with? Or verbally abuse people for not being Christians. You see, with the exception of a few radical Christians, Christians are respectful and tolerant of others' beliefs and opinions and know how to stay in their own lane.
Unlike atheists. :)

Please provide something besides your anecdotal opinions. AS far as being intolerant and hateful, please all the websites that Christians operate that are designed solely to harass and ridicule atheists and their heroes like Richard Dawkins.

I await your response.

Ugh. Atheists are always playing the victim - that's their specialty. "HOW DARE YOU NOT BE AN ATHEIST!? HOW DARE YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT WORLDVIEW THAN ME?! WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
You need someone to call you a wah-mbulance, atheists? Cause you're whining an awful lot about religion for people who claim to not be religious.

Make Christmas great again! Ban atheism! :D

Atheists pretend to hate Christmas because atheism is just as much of a fairytale as Santa Claus. As a Christian, whenever an atheist tries to force me to convert to atheism, I just laugh. That's just like a child telling an adult that they have to go back to believing in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny again. It's cute. Pathetic, but cute.

And surprise surprise... the first comment is by an atheist being hostile and bigoted towards Christians. Shocker.

The atheist religion teaches that atheists are supreme beings and everyone else is worthless and subhuman. Can you at least try to see why we're not buying it?

Atheism is the cult of hatred.

Atheists: "CHRISTMAS ISN'T CHRISTIAN YOU STUPID RELIGITARDS! CHRISTIANS STOLE THE HOLIDAY FROM THE PAGANS! GIVE PAGANS THEIR HOLIDAY BACK YOU EVIL CHRISTIAN SCUMBAGS!"

Also atheists: "Let's make Christmas an atheist holiday where our anti-theist beliefs are celebrated instead of Christianity!"

Atheists are such hypocrites, it's kind of amusing!

First of all, Christmas is not and never has been pagan. It is a Christian holiday, and only an idiot would believe otherwise. CHRISTmas is about celebrating the Birth of CHRIST! See atheists? It's not that hard to understand. It may have some minor similarities to Yule, but both holidays celebrate DIFFERENT THINGS!

Also, if it's bad for Christians to supposedly steal a holiday and make it our own, why is it okay for atheists to steal it and make it all about themselves and their beliefs? Atheists are so unbelievably stupid that they can't even see the hypocrisy there!

Let's keep Christ in Christmas no matter how much the intolerant, thin-skinned bigots known as atheists complain. If Christianity was just a "fairytale" like they love to say it is, they wouldn't be so offended by it.

Sorry atheists, but I'm going to continue celebrating truth, reason, and love, while you celebrate hatred, intolerance, and bigotry.

Merry CHRISTmas and GOD bless! :D

"Freedom from Religion"? Nah, we need freedom from atheism. We need to escape atheism and encourage the world to turn back to God.

Atheist violence blamed on Christians.

As usual.

Don't you atheists have a school to shoot up or an underaged teen girl to sodomize? Why are you sitting around whining on the internet about people pushing back against your scummy behavior?
