I hate to break this to you, but...

...being an Atheist doesn't raise your IQ 30 points.

Atheists Using The "Christian Argument"?

Another fun tactic of the Spaghetti Monster crowd is to claim: "believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, the FSM Bible proves he exists".

The Atheist will tell you "after all, I'm just using the Christian Argument".

Gee, guys, I didn't even know there was some standardized Christian Argument. Gosh, I'd like to hear more about that one.

I'm not aware of any Christian Evangelist that tells people "believe in God, the Bible proves He exists!" I guess there might be a few out there. I'm trying to picture some wild-eyed guy, adopting the Bible Gripper's Stance, shoving a big black book in your face and shouting "BELIEVE!".

Somehow, I can't see someone like that winning many converts.

My response to the FSM tactic is: "I'm an agnostic concerning the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Do you have a personal testimony about the FSM?"

"Well, you just need to read the FSM Bible, it's all in there!"

If I walked up to unbelieving people and said, "God exists. You need to read the Bible, it's all in there", they'd walk away and laugh. What compels people to rethink their views on God is telling them what changes have come in my life as a result of meeting Brother Jesus. And yes, anybody who believes in Jesus and tries to live their according to His teaching are brothers and sisters to Jesus. It's biblical!

Once again, the Atheists just don't get it, and they offer only cartoonish charicatures of Christianity, instead. More's the pity.

Ever Heard This One: "The Virgin Mary Was Raped"

Another attack on Christianity by Village Atheists is the "ghost-rape" accusation, in which the attackers state emphatically that Mary was "raped" because she had no choice but to bear God's son, thereby implying a forced act.

This is perhaps the most absurd comment I've ever seen from atheists on the web. It's purely an argument that denies the scriptural record of the issue.

First of all, the legal definition of rape requires a physical act, for which there is absolutely no evidence, in the Scriptures, or elsewhere. The Bible expresses explicity that Mary was a virgin, meaning there was no physical union. God, in the same way he created Adam from dirt, placed Jesus in Mary's womb. It's not difficult for a Being who creates and manipulates matter.

I refuted this claim to an Atheist who quickly informed me I was an idiot, and that rape is all about "power". I hate to break it to you, kiddies, but you can exert power over somebody without rape. The rape argument doesn't even qualify as weak. It's completely illogical.

Yet, the "brightstars" love nto inform us they are the ones with the "reason" and the "logic".

Hey, brightstars: God is omnipotent. God knows the past, the future, and our thoughts. If God is going to choose a fragile human mortal to bear His Son, why would he choose somebody that doesn't want to do it?

DING!

I'd also like to point out Mary's reaction to being chosen for this. It's what we commonly know as The Magnificat:

And Mary said : "My soul exalts the Lord
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
"For He has had regard for the humble state of His bondslave ;
For behold, from this time on all generations will count me blessed.
"For the Mighty One has done great things for me;
And holy is His name.

Luke 1: 46-50

So now we have the "victim" honoring and worshipping her attacker. "But-but-but..." no, Luke didn't toss that in there as a phony means to legitimize the act. It is what it is.

Either deny the Bible has any truth in it, or argue against it based on what it actually says, Atheists. Eisegetic inferences don't cut the mustard here.

Rape involves a physical union, or at least an attempted union, marked by the victim's refusal to willlingly comply. Please the comb the bible for Mary's "no", then get back to me, Atheists.

I think I hear crickets chirping.

If you wish to deny that anything in the Bible is true, fine. But don't toss your own logic into this and then tell Christians we're ignorant and don't know what we believe.
